It is important to make sure that there is a well-stocked first aid kit on board the boat in case any injuries occur during your voyage. The kit should be kept in a cool, dry place out of reach of children, and all medicines should be within their use-by date.

Your first aid kit should contain:

  • Painkillers: Aspirin, paracetamol, ibuprofen
  • Anti-seasickness tablets should you choose to use them
  • Antihistamines
  • Any prescription medications necessary
  • Sterile gloves
  • Sterile gauze pads
  • Absorbent compress dressings
  • Adhesive bandages
  • Adhesive cloth tape
  • Roller bandages
  • Triangular bandages
  • Plasters/ Band-Aids
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Antiseptic wipes
  • Cold compress
  • CPR mask
  • A blanket
  • Thermometer (non-mercury and non-glass)
  • Scissors
  • Tweezers
  • Safety pins
